How we handle your data

1. Information We Collect

When you create an account we collect your username, email address, and whether you use StreamIt as a fan or a creator. Your password is never stored in readable form — we keep only a salted hash of it. If you upload a profile picture or content, we store those files and the information you attach to them, such as titles and pricing.

2. How Your Content Is Stored

Your uploads are held in cloud object storage operated by Google Cloud Storage or Cloudflare R2, which encrypt data at rest. Paid content is not served from a public address: access is checked on our servers on every request, and files are delivered through short-lived links that expire. We do not apply our own additional layer of encryption on top of the storage provider's, and you should not treat StreamIt as a secure vault for sensitive personal material.

3. Messages Are Not Private From Us

Direct messages between fans and creators are stored in our database as ordinary text. They are not end-to-end encrypted. StreamIt staff and administrators are technically able to read them, and we may do so where necessary to investigate abuse, respond to a legal request, or operate the service. Please do not send anything through StreamIt messaging that you would not want the platform operator to be able to read.

4. Payments

Card payments are processed entirely by Paystack. Your card number never reaches StreamIt's servers and we do not store it. We keep a record of each transaction — its amount, reference, and status — so we can maintain your credit balance and transaction history. Payment confirmations sent to us by Paystack are cryptographically signature-verified before we act on them.

5. Data We Share

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers required to run StreamIt — our cloud storage provider, Paystack for payments, and Resend for transactional email — and where we are legally required to disclose it.

6. Your Choices

You can update your profile details at any time from your account settings, and you can delete your account, which removes your profile from StreamIt. To request a copy of your data or ask a question about this policy, contact us through the address listed on our support page.
